Un terremoto sacude las bases del fútbol amateur chileno. Miguel Valdés Aros, director técnico del Club Municipal Puente Alto, equipo que compite en la Tercera División A, presentó una grave denuncia por presunto amaño de partidos, respaldada por confesiones de siete jugadores de su propio plantel.
Puente Alto, 7 de noviembre de 2025 – El caso, que involucra a casas de apuestas ilegales, podría derivar en investigaciones formales ante la Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Amateur (ANFA), el Ministerio Público y el municipio local.
El detonante fue la derrota de Municipal Puente Alto por 2-1 ante Chimbarongo FC, disputada el 1 de noviembre en el Estadio Municipal de Puente Alto, correspondiente a la jornada 29 de la Tercera A –la cuarta categoría del balompié nacional–. Según la acusación de Valdés Aros, revelada por ADN Radio, jugadores de su equipo habrían sido contactados por intermediarios para manipular el resultado a cambio de sumas de dinero, en un esquema ligado a apuestas en línea. «No puedo permitir que el deporte que amo se contamine de esta manera. Los muchachos confesaron todo, y es hora de limpiar el fútbol desde abajo», declaró el DT en exclusiva al medio emisor.
El impacto deportivo es inmediato. Chimbarongo, que ocupa el puesto 12 de la tabla con 30 puntos, se benefició directamente de los tres puntos obtenidos en Puente Alto, acercándose a solo un punto de Constitución Unido –el equipo que marca la salvación directa–. Actualmente, los sureños deberán disputar un repechaje contra un conjunto de Tercera B para evitar el descenso, lo que añade presión al escándalo. Por su parte, Municipal Puente Alto, que en 2024 dio que hablar al plantar cara a la Universidad de Chile en la Copa Chile, marcha en posiciones medias de la tabla y aspira a playoffs de ascenso.

Valdés Aros, un experimentado entrenador con trayectoria en divisiones inferiores, anunció que formalizará la querella en las próximas horas ante la ANFA –organismo rector de la competencia– y las autoridades judiciales. «Esto no es solo un partido; es un cáncer que afecta a todo el fútbol chileno. Involucra apuestas ilegales y podría extenderse a otros encuentros», enfatizó. Fuentes cercanas al caso indican que la investigación preliminar ya identifica a posibles cabecillas externos, ajenos a los clubes involucrados.
El escándalo llega en un momento sensible para el fútbol de ascenso en Chile, donde la profesionalización parcial de la Tercera División ha incrementado la visibilidad –y tentación– de irregularidades. Expertos consultados por el medio RedGol advierten que este caso podría desencadenar auditorías más amplias, similares a las que en 2019 sacudieron la Primera B por amaños. «Es un llamado de atención: el amateurismo no es inmune a la corrupción global de las apuestas deportivas», señaló un analista de la Universidad de Chile.
Hasta el cierre de esta edición, ni Chimbarongo FC ni la ANFA han emitido declaraciones oficiales. Municipal Puente Alto, por su parte, suspendió temporalmente entrenamientos para «procesar el impacto emocional» en el plantel. La pelota, ahora, está en manos de la justicia. ¿Será este el fin de una era oscura en el fútbol chico chileno, o solo la punta del iceberg? El país espera respuestas.
